President

Robert Tullonge, President of the Hamden Rovers organization since its inception.  Native of Kingston Jamaica and migrated to Connecticut at age 17 to continue academic studies.  That journey included graduating from the following CT institutions with academic degrees, Gateway Technical Community College, Univ of Hartford and Sacredheart University.  My current employment role involves the administration of several  support teams providing technical solutions from training, helpdesk, learning, management systems, security and transactional commerce systems.

The main reason for my attraction to this group and our mission is my desire to give back to my community.  My personal belief is that helping others simply feels good and is infectious.  The establishment and maintenance of a non profit organization that serves our community through meaningful charity initiatives is dear to my heart. I have enjoyed the privilege of working alongside a fantastic team of Hamden Rovers  leaders, fathers, husbands, mentors and most importantly members who share the common goals of community development.  I am also an avid fan of the game of football and this group shares that joy, so it stimulates our comradery.

Open Position

Secretary

Minto_edited.jpg

Michael Minto is the Secretary of Hamden Rovers Incorporated (HRI) since its beginning. My position in the organization allows me to work in concert with officers, members of the board and people in the community. My attraction to the organization is its mission and values. The giving back to the community is infectious and inspiring and the Rovers’ team is driven in this endeavor to help make this difference by changing and shaping lives in our communities.

A bit about myself, I am a husband and a father of two. I was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica and came to United States when I was 15. It is here where I completed my education and obtained my undergraduate and graduate degrees. My career up until now involves working in small or large biotech companies. The work I do involve scientific research and development (R&D) of products that are used in other R&D companies, medical establishments and academia worldwide. Outside of work and non-profit duties, I like spending time with my family. I like traveling, playing soccer, fine dining and reading.

Event Coordinator

I am Beverly Felix, a proud mother to a dynamic 19-year-old son.  Originally, from St. Lucia, in the West Indies, I emigrated to Brooklyn, New York at the age of 11 with my parents and siblings where I resided until relocating to Connecticut in 1998. Shortly after settling in Connecticut, I attended the University of Bridgeport, graduating with a dual degree in Human Services and Psychology.  Upon graduation, I was fortunate enough to secure a position as a program manager with a local agency that serves individuals with varying disabilities, a position I have held for the past 12 years.  I am very passionate about and deeply committed to serving those sectors of our community who are less fortunate and or disenfranchised in one way or another.

I am also the owner and president of a construction company that rehabilitates foreclosed properties to make them market ready. I am not surprised that I also have a passion for this type of work, as it is in my blood—both my father and brother, both of whom are now deceased, did this type of work for most of their lives.  In some way, I feel that I am continuing this legacy.

In my free time, which is not generally much, you can find me at the beach or near any body of water.

Given that I am of Caribbean descent, soccer is naturally in my blood, and I am therefore thrilled to have the opportunity to serve on the Board of the Hamden Rovers.  I look forward to working alongside my colleagues on the Board to advance the organization’s mission and continued success.
