Good afternoon Hamden Rovers club members.
Hamden Rovers have outdone ourselves again, kudos to you all. I couldn't have said it any better. Even though the tournament was on our agenda, the planning stages and the decision to move forward with the event were short notice.
Vira would have been proud of the turnout with this 6 v 6 soccer tournament in honor of his name. Both of his children, Amelia, and Shianna who attended with their mothers, Shelly White, and Tracia Palmer, along with Vira's sister Meka who came up from New York as well.
Seven teams sign up for the tournament, but all in all, it was a fun day for everyone who participated. Much thanks to the Jam Reggae Destroyer, Hawks, Yea Aight FC, Auto Clinic/ Garage Team, Hamden Rover/ Humble Lions, Unstoppable, and Strike Force. Reds Reggae Jam won the competition, arguably so, the best team in the tournament.
And as alluded to in my previous text messages, all net assets from the event were donated to Vira's children.
Hamden Rovers soccer team updates:
Sunday's game against FC New Fairfield was postponed until further notice.
